My Pregnancy: 26 weeks and counting…

With 26 weeks down, my third trimester is now just within arms reach and pregnancy symptoms have hit an all time high. Baby Brickhouse is busy growing (she’s apparently the size of a head of lettuce now) and her movements are getting more and more frequent. My pregnancy tracking apps says her eyelashes are now grown and I can’t help but hope she inherits my husband’s amazingly thick, long lashes.

This week I felt my first Braxton Hicks contraction and woah…it was crazy! Since I’ve been reading up on what to expect each week during pregnancy, I knew I would eventually feel one, so I wasn’t worried. It was however an intense feeling that I’m assuming will set me up for managing the real deal when she’s ready to finally make her debut in June.

So, what major pregnancy symptoms have kicked in this week? Well, other than getting visibly larger (see my 26 week pic), the bottoms of my feet have started to hurt, my skin is beyond dry (think of dandruff of the body – yak!), I can start to see the faint line of the Linea Negra coming out, I think I pinched nerve in my back and I’m beyond exhausted! Sounds fun, huh? Well, with as unpleasant as all these things are, the constant baby movements I’m feeling makes it all worth it.

This week I’m killing my workouts because next week is our official moving week, which means no gym workouts for me. Long days of moving and packing will be plenty, and although it’s hard to wrap my head around missing lifting sessions, I know I’ll be getting plenty of exercise.

Check me out at 26 weeks…
